About Daisy
Jess and her 7-month-old puppy, Daisy, love to go on long walks, explore and play. When Jess noticed Daisy moving slowly and limping on recent outings, she quickly made an appointment at the animal hospital.
At the vet, Daisy was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans — a painful joint condition that prevents cartilage from forming properly. In Daisy’s case, a piece of cartilage the size of a golf ball has broken off in her shoulder, causing her constant pain and preventing her bones from growing as they should. Without surgery to remove it, vets have warned that her condition will rapidly worsen. Surgery is her only chance at a pain-free life.
"Daisy is my entire world. She has been my constant source of love and comfort. She’s more than just a pet—she’s family. Without this surgery, Daisy won’t be able to continue living her joyful, active life, and I can’t bear the thought of losing her or watching her suffer," Jess told the VHS.
Jess is currently on medical leave from her work and isn't able to afford the cost of Daisy's surgery on her own. "I do not want to put her down nor do I want her to be in pain. She means everything to me, and I love her so much," Jess said. If surgery is performed quickly, Daisy will be able to heal and has a happy life ahead of her with Jess.
