Ernie the cat is the sweetest, most loving boy. He is soft, cuddly, talkative, and loves to play fetch with his three-year-old human sibling. 

When Ernie developed a urinary blockage, his guardian Helen knew he needed help right away. He now needs urgent treatment to resolve the blockage, followed by a two-day hospital stay, to save his life. 

Helen is a single mother of two young children, including a new baby. After paying for the basic needs of her family, she cannot afford the full cost of Ernie’s emergency care on her own. Having grown up in the care system, Helen does not have family she can turn to for help. 

Helen is doing everything she can to bring Ernie safely home to continue life with her family. “I love Ernie so much,” Helen tearfully told the VHS.
