Shadow is a little cat with a big zest for life. He spends his day talking to everyone he encounters and loves to join his dog brother for walks. His outgoing nature has even helped his more reserved cat brother become more adventurous!  

Two days ago, Shadow began throwing up. As the vomiting persisted, his guardian Maryel became increasingly worried. Maryel quickly sought out help and after monitoring Shadow with no change, she rushed him to the vet.  

Shadow was admitted to hospital and started on IV fluids for the dehydration he is suffering. Further testing found that he is suffering from a urinary blockage and needs immediate life-saving surgery.  

Maryel does everything she can to ensure that her fur-babies are well looked after and sets asides some funds every month in case of emergency. Sadly, the cost of the IV fluids and testing has depleted her funds and she is unable to afford the costly surgery. That is why she has reached out to the Vancouver Humane Society for support.
