Smokie is a sweet young kitten with a big, very curious, personality. His curiosity led him to get out of the house and unfortunately sustain a severe injury at the base of his tail.  

His guardian, Christopher, followed instructions to care for the wound however, it rapidly became infected and an emergency vet visit concluded that Smokie will need urgent surgery to amputate his tail to prevent the infection from spreading further.  

Christopher is unable to afford the full amount of the costly surgery and has reached out to the Vancouver Humane Society for support.
