Toro suddenly suffered a terrifying, life-threatening emergency when swelling near his throat caused him to stop breathing and become unresponsive. His guardian, Lina, rushed him to the emergency vet right away, where he received immediate care. 

Toro needs to remain hospitalized so veterinary staff can closely monitor him and give him the best chance at recovery. 

Lina has shared her life with Toro for seven years. She adopted him during one of the most difficult times in her life, after surviving abuse and trauma. Toro has been her emotional support dog ever since. “He is my everything,” Lina told the VHS. “He has brought me comfort, stability, and so much joy, and he is loved by everyone who meets him.” 

Lina has paid what she can toward Toro’s emergency care, but she cannot afford the full cost of his hospitalization alone.
