Five-year-old Winnie means everything to his guardian, Victoria. During a recent checkup, the vet noticed his lymph nodes were swollen and recommended sampling. The oncologist has now found possible early signs of cancer, and Winnie urgently needs an ultrasound and testing of his liver and spleen. These next steps are time sensitive to give him the best chance at treatment. 

For Victoria, this news has been heartbreaking. Living on disability assistance, she does everything she can to care for Winnie but has no nearby friends or family who can help financially. She shared, “I feel completely stuck and overwhelmed with guilt and fear. Winnie is my whole world, and I want nothing more than to keep him happy and healthy.” 

Victoria rescued Winnie when he was one year old after a traumatic start to his life. She shared, “Things haven't always been easy due to his past trauma, but I've worked hard to make him feel safe and loved. Winnie is goofy, sensitive, affectionate, and smart. He makes me laugh every day with little quirks like lifting one paw when he drinks water, army crawling when he is excited, or putting his head between my legs when he wants a hug. He honestly means the absolute world to me.”
