About Arlo

Arlo is a sweet 8-year-old cat who is currently in critical need of medical attention. Recently, his guardian James noticed that Arlo was not as interested in his food. Knowing that Arlo is a picky eater, James tried giving him some options, hoping that would help. But after a few days, Arlo started wincing when trying to eat or even drink water. Concerned, James rushed him to the vet where initial testing led to a devastating diagnosis—Arlo is battling hepatic lipidosis, which is a severe liver condition where excessive fat accumulates in the liver. Arlo requires immediate treatment as it is crucial to treat this condition. 

James is a person with disabilities and has already exhausted his savings on Arlo’s initial checkup and diagnosis. Despite facing numerous barriers, he remains determined to ensure Arlo gets the care he needs. That is why he has reached out to the Vancouver Humane Society for help.
