Nina has been taking her beloved dog Gracie to the vet repeatedly over the past few months for a troubling and painful condition. Despite courses of medications, Gracie’s symptoms keep returning. Every few weeks, she suffers violent head shaking that leaves her ears twisted, her head buried in the couch, and her body wracked with discomfort. She cries in pain and cannot relax. 

Nina rescued Gracie, who has always been a little nervous, and the pair quickly became inseparable. Gracie is Nina’s constant source of comfort, companionship, and protection. “I rely on her for everything,” Nina told the VHS. “I cannot in any way lose my girl.” 

Nina is on disability assistance and has been doing everything she can to get Gracie the care she needs, but the cost of further testing and treatment is beyond her means. Veterinary staff suspect Gracie may be suffering from an ear infection or severe allergies, but she will need a thorough exam and lab tests to determine the cause and bring her lasting relief.
