About Mama
When Danielle noticed Mama and her litter of kittens living outside, she contacted a cat rescue and helped trap and neuter/spay the family. While Mama’s kittens now live together at a local farm, tired Mama was grateful to be taken in by Danielle.
For six years, Mama has enjoyed her retirement under Danielle’s loving care, and spends her days cuddling, eating, and taking naps in the sunshine.
Recently, Mama used her tiny squeak of a meow to let Danielle know that something was wrong. Andrea was alarmed to notice poor Mama is suffering from infected mammary glands or potential tumors in the same area. Danielle suspects this may be the result of the hard life Mama had before she was rescued. The infection is causing Mama pain, and she has lost interest in her food.
Tough circumstances mean Danielle is currently unable to work full-time and has no emergency funds available to pay for Mama’s urgent veterinary care. Danielle quickly reached out to the Vancouver Humane Society for help getting Mama the treatment she needs.
