About Dax

Dax, a young and spirited pup lovingly nicknamed “Daxaroni,” has always been full of personality. His sweet and sassy nature quickly wins over everyone he meets. 

But now, this playful pup is barely recognizable. He has stopped eating, won’t drink, and is too weak to do anything but sleep. 

After rushing him to the vet and using all of her savings on tests with no clear answers, Dax’s guardian, Cheyenne, is still searching for a diagnosis. Dax needs further tests and a second opinion. 

Cheyenne is living on a low income and facing immense mental health struggles. She told the Vancouver Humane Society that Dax and his fur-brother Jasper have given her the courage to keep going. “They are the reason I wake up in the morning. I can’t give up on Dax. He has never given up on me.” 

Now, with Dax so unwell, Cheyenne is terrified of losing her best friend, and desperate to help him get better.
