About Gemma

Gemma is a sweet 7-month-old puppy, who has been diagnosed with the devastating parvo virus. Gemma’s loving guardian, Jenicka, noticed her beloved puppy wasn’t her usual playful self and rushed her to the vet. After a series of tests, the heartbreaking diagnosis came in—Gemma has contracted parvo, a highly contagious virus which, if left untreated, is most often fatal in puppies. 

When Jenicka adopted Gemma, she took every precaution to ensure Gemma’s well-being, including setting aside an emergency fund for unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, Gemma’s medical expenses have quickly depleted. This is why she has reached out to the Vancouver Humane Society for support.
